Maybe this is pointing out the obviously, but I’d like to address the fact that some people say Olivia’s character has been the same all season, but during the second episode she couldn’t even look Amaro in the eye, now she’s high-fiving and poking fun at him like innocent bromantical partners should.

I don’t think they’d ever get involved in any kind of way but Amaro has helped her throughout the season in giving her every reason to trust him, and she has come to that. Although she will most likely never have a partnership like she did with Elliot, the season finale pointed out that there movement in Olivia’s heart, because all she really needs is a good friend. People need to get it out of their heads that the writer’s are moving them together romantically, because if so, they would have made him single, with no kids, and would’ve come in without a shirt because damn, the weather gets a little toasty in New York.

So maybe you didn’t think the finale was great but in my own opinion, it opened doors for Olivia, and fucked your mind too.
